CLIENTS

The Newman's Wedding

A Native American Navajo tradition is to have a marriage vase  gifted to the couple at the wedding ceremony. The marriage vase is built with two spouts to represent the two individuals coming together as one. The handle that connects the spouts symbolizes the circle of life. During the ceremony Zach and Rachel poured two different colored glazes over the vase. The fired vase gives the couple something to remind them of their special day.

Ethan's Birthday Party

Ethan's parents provided the space and Megan brought the rest. Children painted shark piggy banks and tiles with glaze. The process took one hour for 6-7 year olds. Two weeks later the finished pieces were delivered to the parents

Living Arts & Science Center Class

These mini-murals were created with bas-relief tiles during week long camps/residencies. Students pressed the clay tiles and added depth by layering more clay to build the objects within the image. The pieces were fired within the week for the students to glaze or paint with acrylic.

Owenton Elementary School

Owenton Elementary School hired Megan to visit the school for a day to paint tiles with the 4th and 5th grade students. They previously drew a design with their art teacher to transfer on a tile. Megan fired and assembled the mural in her home studio and delivered the panels to the school.

Yates & Arlington Elementary

Yates and Arlington Elementary Schools are built on a watershed. The schools wanted to hang murals above their water fountains to remind students where their water comes from and who else drinks it. Megan spent a day at the school painting tiles with students and assembled the murals in her studio.

Yates Elementary School

The art teacher worked with Megan to organize a two day residency. During the first visit, students built their tiles around a theme they were studying in science. During the second visit, students painted and glazed their tiles. The art teacher fired the tiles and Megan assembled the mural.

Tova's Birthday Party

Tova's parents rented a party room and had Megan set up for the children's activity.  Children painted rainbow boxes, robots, superman piggy banks, owls, and tiles. Megan fired the items in her kiln and delivered them to the parents.

Jones Fork Elementary

Jones Fork Elementary School received a Teaching Arts Together Grant from the Kentucky Arts Council to bring Megan to Hindman, KY. Megan worked at the school for the week as an art teacher. Students created pinch pots, canopic jars, tree faces, tiles, and threw on a pottery wheel.

University of Kentucky

The University of Kentucky College of Agriculture hired Megan to set up a painting session and art contest for students at the school's "Diversity Day." Students glazed tiles at the event and Megan took them to her home studio to fire and assemble. Megan created a border and wooden frame for murals to be hung on UK's campus.
